Tracks SHambhaly from Tyan-SHan up to Altai
‘On the way of Shambhala in Kazakhstan’
Authors : B. B. Rezvantsev, B. Z. Rezvantsev
This book is meant to take the reader on a trail dotted with facts that prove the presence of Buddhists in Kazakhstan and Middle Asia during VII-XIX centuries.
The authors had the opportunity of visiting many holy places including places that were little heard of or unknown before. Some of these places include the ravines of the Shu and Ili Rivers where the surfaces of the rocks are decorated with the effigies of Buddha and inscriptions from Holy Tibetan Books; ruins of temples and monasteries in Altai and Tyan-Shan. The opening, at the end of 20th century, of the burned monastery with many bronze wares is of great significance to the world.
The rich potential resources of the region where the Great Silk Road runs through and deposits of semi-precious stones are shown in the book. Special attention was paid to ancient Buddhist relations, legends and myths of this religion.
This 200-page book containing 80 photographs, 6 maps and charts will make an interesting read to businessmen scouting for areas of investment, tour organizers, those interested in special doctrines and Nature lovers. This book will help to attract pilgrims, tourists and the start of archeological excavations.
